This small, stylish hotel in the upper quarters of an Art Noveau house is close to the lively Leidseplein. The Vondelpark and the Museumplein are also within walking distance. Its location makes it a good base to explore the city. The interior is in keeping with art nouveau style, and each room has a distinct feel. There’s no lift, but breakfast with unparalleled views on the Rijksmuseum makes it worthwhile.

Hotel Museumzicht is a small hotel (only 14 rooms) in the upper part of a victorian house, situated in an Art Nouveau area, which is safe and clean. Breakfast with a view on the beautiful Rijksmuseum (National Gallery). It takes only 5 minutes to walk to the bright lights of Leidseplein with its casino, theater, dancings, cafe Alto with live jazz, Paradiso with popgroups, coffeeshops, restaurants, bicycle rent, etc. In other directions, equally near, you will find the Vondelpark, Concerthall, Van Goghmuseum and startingpoint for canaltrips.

The hotel was started in 1938. Apart from the modern box-spring beds all rooms are differently furnished with table and chairs, bed lamps, hot and cold water. Some rooms have private facilities, but for most shower and toilet are outside the room on the same floor. We check them several times a day. There is no curfew; once checked in you may come and go as you please. Public phone, small library and TV in the lounge/breakfastroom. There is no elevator! Be prepared to climb some stairs.
