Eastman House gems share the spotlight on TCM

Archive film famous George Eastman House has been featured Nationally next week. Turner Classic Movies, surf any serious movie fans, is a devoted 24 hours to show some gems from the archive, starting Wednesday morning and walked into the wee hours on Thursday on the cable channel 60.

You’ll have the opportunity to view rare performances by famous actors such as Paul Muni, Gloria Swanson, George Sanders, Jeanette McDonald, James Mason, Charles Laughton, Maureen O Sullivan, Janet Gaynor, and Ava Gardner and rarely seen works such as John Ford, director Stanley Kubrick, Philip Kaufman, William k. Howard, Edmund Goulding and Maurice Tourneur.
And with film 15, viewers across the country will come to realize what we already know that Rochester is home to one of only a handful of the world s major film collection, as well as the nation’s only accredited school of film preservation.

Film prime-time in the schedule to be unveiled by TCM’s Robert Osborne, host veterans who ll join Jared Case, head of information collection for the House Eastman.

Case said he’s always proud and excited to talk about work at the home of Eastman, and 28,000 or so titles that have come to the museum during the last 60 years. So, when I received the opportunity to talk about some of the film with a national audience, I jumped at the chance.
